100's of Dive Sites, 1000's of Critters
Diving locations on Okinawa are broken up into a few categories. First we have the main island of Okinawa that offers diving in the north, middle, and southern areas - mainly on the western side of the island where the drop off is. Some of the sites are only accessible by boat entry, but most can be accessed by shore also. There are also many small islands within 15 minutes that have great dive sites on them.
Next up is the Chiibishi Island group - three small uninhabited islands that are located aprox 30 minutes to the southwest of mainland Okinawa. Kamiyama, Kuef, and Nagannu Island each have excellent marine life and underwater landscapes.
Last on the list is the world famous Kerama Island group, which is made up of numerous inhabited and uninhabited islands. About an hour's boat ride away, the very raw, limestone rock formations of the islands provides a great backdrop to fantastic diving. The coral reefs at some points in the Keramas are unparalleled.
You can easily see the layout and location of the many dive sites Okinawa has to offer.
