Kamiyama is the first of the Chibishi islands encountered when leaving Okinawa main island.  Surrounded by sloping reefs full of swimthroughs and arches the most famous dive spot is Labyrinth on the south side of the island.  Dive sites here are famous for turtles, juvenile reef sharks, cuttlefish and plenty of the colorful reef fish that Okinawa is famous for.  A great dive site with excellent visibility just a short boat trip away from the main island.

Nagannu island is the largest island and has a huge lagoon surrounding it.  The remains of a Korean freighter can still be seen in the lagoon where it ran aground to escape a typhoon year ago.  The large area allows for numerous dive sites and lots to see.  Dynamic drift dives on "Nagannu Corner" and 'North Wall"  allow for schools of long jawed mackerel, turtles and jacks to be seen.  These sites are also visited by rays and reef sharks on a regular basis.  In the cove sheltered from the currents new divers can explore Sugar Hills looking for stingrays or 'West beach" for turtles and nudibranchs among the coral heads.

Kuef Island
Kamiyama Island is the closest of the Chibishi Islands to Okinawa.  This small uninhabited island is surrounding by fringing reefs reaching out from the beach like long fingers.  The maze like layout of the reefs makes dive sites such as "Labyrinth" amazing places to explore with turtles, barracuda and snapper hovering above the corals and reef fish to numerous to mention darting among the structures, overhangs and swim throughs.

Kuef Island is the smallest of the Chibishi Islands, being just a small sand spit it can actually move during large storms and typhoons.  Kuef Channel is a dynamic drift dive with sea fans and large coral heads spread over the bottom.  Pygmy sea horses, gray reef sharks and rays are commonly seen here.  The 'south side of the island has reef packed with coral heads and tons of small fish as far as the eye can see.
